A brand new Pierburgh maf sensor (an OEM Mercedes part) for use with the Synergy 2a,. Well under half the cost of a Bosch maf, but will not work without a Synergy 2a since this recalibrates it so it is Bosch compatible.The results are superior to using a new Bosch maf & Synergy 1 for both performance and mpg.

The aim of the Synergy 2 and maf is to improve both the fuel consumption and performance. If your Bosch maf is overfuelling (about half of the out of spec ones do this, the rest underfuel) this will give abnormal low down torque at the expense of exhaust smoke and worse mpg.

Faulty fuel rail sensor. If this is out of spec, (on Freelanders, technical bulletin LRTB0052 details the water ingress issue), the maf may appear to be faulty as the performance is worse unless it is unplugged. IT IS NOT A NEW BUT FAULTY SENSOR. FIT THE REPAIR PARTS AND THE SYNERGY 2 AND MAF WILL WORK.

PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS NO REFUND OPTION FOR MAFS WHERE THE BOX HAS BEEN OPENED SINCE WE CANNOT SELL IT ON AS NEW. (this is clearly stated on page 4 of the Synergy 2 instructions and in our terms of business.)

As a consumable item, it is not covered by the Distance Selling Regulations. (a 'consumable' being an item which deteriorates or wears out over time and eventually must be replaced).

A faulty maf will be replaced with a working one (not necessarily brand new) within 12months of purchase. However the warranty will not be extended and a maf found to be working will be returned to you.

On the few occasions when a maf has become faulty and we have returned it to Pierburgh, they have refused to honour their warranty claiming oil contamination. This is most common on worn engines with significant piston blow by and valve stem seal wear and clogged crankcase ventilation valve.
