Product Details

The DGB S is a standalone vnt turbo controller which directly drives a vacuum boost control solenoid using a map sensor to measure the boost.

IT ONLY WORKS WITH VACUUM VNT ACTUATORS

It works on engines with either electronic or mechanical injection.

If fitting to an engine with electronic injection it can use your existing map sensor but we need a photo of this so we can fit the correct cable.

Please note: If you don't have a boost control solenoid (BCV/N75) valve and / or map sensor / or TPS please choose them from the options list

CHOOSE THE OPTIONAL BOOST BLOCKER if you want the Digibooster to limit the map signal from your own sensor to stop your engine ecu cutting the fuel when the boost pressure is raised by more than about 20%.

PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO TELL US WHICH MAP SENSOR YOU WILL BE USING SO WE CAN FIT THE CORRECT CABLE.

SWITCH FUNCTIONS:

1 & 2 choose higher or lower vacuum range for stiff or sensitive actuators.

3 ACTIVATES THE ZERO BOOST ON ZERO THROTTLE FEATURE. This cancels the vacuum, releasing the actuator when you lift fully off the gas. (pedal voltage less than 1v)

4 ACTIVATES THE 5 STAGE TPS INPUT. This gives 5 small further vane movements as the throttle is opened so you can have some extra boost progressively. (pedal voltage goes from just over 1v to about 4v)

If your engine has electronic injection you should be able run a wire from the accelerator pedal sensor otherwise you will need to fit our lever/cable operated TPS sensor for use on a mechanical pump.

5,6,7,8 SELECTS THE ACTIVE BOOST MAP FROM THE 16 AVAILABLE. There are 16 settings in 4 bands. The band determines the start position for low rpm boost and the setting within each band sets the rate of increase. Max boost is set with the small variable control.

TWIN TURBO ENGINES. If you have a twin turbo engine, you just need to buy the optional BCV TT. We fit a second cable for this, so the one DGBS will control both turbos. If you have a large engine - over 3L & 6cylinders then it maybe be better to fit two turbos in parallel. Large turbos such as fitted to USA trucks usually have either electronic, or hydraulically operated (engine oil pressure) vnt mechanisms. We have no way of testing the DBBS on such as setup, and in any case, it may be easier and simpler to fit two identical turbos. You should find out the firing order and arrange the manifold runners so that each turbo is driven with alternately firing cylinders. EG if the firing order is 143526, cylinders 1,3 and 2 would supply one turbo and 4,5,6 the other, with a pair of simple manifolds.

NB you should fit a boost gauge since the map sensor data via the obd port will not reflect the true boost if the blocker is switched on.

Demo of the DGBS controlling a vacuum actuator with a vacuum pump providing the vacuum via a boost control valve. Both the Vauxhall/Fiat and VW N75 valves are suitable and work the same.
